5ft Victorian Brass Bedstead – Ref. 96016A60

A fine, robust and ornate mid-period Victorian all brass bedstead. Made for export to North Africa, this bedstead is overtly ‘Moorish’ in its style with pressed brass post mounts and cast brass ‘T’ joints throughout both head and footboard gates. Made circa 1880, we attributed this bedstead to Hoskins & Sewell. Note this model has rare embossed main posts, this design feature sets it apart from its makers more ‘run of the mill’ portfolio of designs.
A highly decorative model such as this will make such a pleasing bedroom centre piece to any room in which it is employed. Its heritage will also unfailingly bring importance and a good degree majesty to ones bedroom scheme too. To add to its pre-existing character and history, it has been restored with a soft, antique effect finish to it brass tubes and mounts. This in turn has been sealed via a lacquer to give longevity of maintenance free use thus occasional dusting only will be required. Quick ship programme.
