Decorative late Victorian Brass & Iron bedstead with an ornate and desirable gallery feature to the footboard. The gallery has an original Victorian pressed, beaded brass plaque with a central bevelled glass display. The glass centre is further inset with Mother of Pearl and Majolica formed into a highly decorative star pattern. This bedsteads frame has bold and ornate cast iron joints throughout. This is especially so on the out-back of the cast iron mounting for the footboards brass wheel where the casting has a detailed orange segment design feature. A fine bed that will bring both majesty and a wonderful central feature to ones bedroom scheme. Currently standing fully restored, prepared and ready for our quick ship programme.

The images shown here of bed ref: 9725B72 show this bedstead complete with a combined mattress and bedstead height of 37cm (12”). A statement Brass & Iron bedstead such as this one could accommodate a deeper mattress and base height but if this exceeds 40cm (14½”). One should be mindful that making a bedstead’s overall mattress height either too high or too low can impact the aesthetic integrity of the overall scheme one is seeking to create.
