An ornate and robust late Victorian Brass & Iron bedstead with an extensively embellished footboard featuring two prominent brass ‘captains wheels’ and an extensive further display of brass trumpets and gravity-pressed brass daisy badges. Classic, full posts brass mounts including feet, knees, husk half-drops, bulbus top collars and extra large brass top knobs. This bedstead is currently standing fully restored, prepared and ready for our quick ship programme.

The images shown here of bed ref: 9661B66 show this bedstead complete with a combined mattress and bedstead height of 30cm (12”). A statement Brass & Iron bedstead such as this one could accommodate a deeper mattress and base height but if this exceeds 40cm (15½”). One should be mindful that making a bedstead’s overall mattress height either too high or too low can impact the aesthetic integrity of the overall scheme one is seeking to create.
